This old Mandan Indian Village located in Pioneer Park on the bluffs of the Missouri river is a popular gathering place for those who enjoy viewing the sunset. I find it comforting that this particular spot has for centuries drawn people contemplating whatever it is that one dwells on while taking in a grand view dimmed by the fading sun.

Aurora Borealis!
It seems that North Dakota is the most ideally located state in the lower 48 to view the Northern Lights, as explained in this article by Deanna Weise. The article features Lyndon Anderson a photographer who captures unique Aurora Borealis pictures and local North Dakota images for his website Prairie Journal

Today in Bismarck
Some more shots around Bismarck on my one day off this week. Tried to go to the post office but apparently it is a holiday of some kind. Oh well, it was a pretty day with temps in the upper 60's. Supposedly it will reach the 70's in the next two days before it cools again. I'll take it, just sad I'll be shut up in a building for the rest of the week.
